Bull Valley Gorge is a deep, dark slot canyon hundreds of feet deep in the earth, and Lick Wash, which is geared to a more conservative hiking individual. Both are great slots that can be done in conjunction with Willis Creek.

I went to Bryce Canyon National Park with some friends and at the end of our stay we decided to try and find a slot canyon to hike. We discovered that Willis Creek Slot Canyon was only a 45 min drive from Bryce and the hike was short and easy (important for one of the members of our group).

Willis Creek is a great trail located near Bryce Canyon National Park. No real difficulties are encountered, and visitors can follow this trail as long or short as is desired, and there are some very beautiful sections. From the trailhead, follow the marked trail down Willis Creek. Willis Creek Slot Canyon is located off Skutumpah Road in Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. The hike is a 4.8-mile round trip, but you can turn around after you finish the narrows section, making it a 2.6-mile round trip. The trail gains a scant 300 feet as it follows the perennial Willis Creek. This is a fantastic hike for families, those with dogs, or anyone who wants to experience an excellent slot canyon without having to use ropes. The creek winds through alternating sections of slot canyon and washes for several miles. Most hikers enjoy Willis Creek as an out-and-back hike, walking until they feel ready to turn back (roughly two miles out, two miles back). Getting there: Willis Creek is accessible from the Willis Creek Trailhead, located nine miles from the town of Cannonville Hiking Willis Creek Slot Canyon. After following the trail for about 200 meters through brush and small trees, the trail dips down to Willis Creek. For the rest of the hike, you will be walking alongside or in Willis Creek.
